Over 25 years of teaching, my students have won places at the best conservatoires in Europe, the US and Asia, competition prizes & auditions.
Dear Friends,
welcome to my information page. I have now been teaching for over 25 years, have been lucky enough to live in 7 different countries, and so have taught many hundreds of students all over the world. I look forward to working with you, helping you unleash your full musical and technical potential, and achieving lots of success together. I can promise you lots of hard work, technical analysis, musical passion, and 100% commitment to your success. I also guide students on how to build up to an important audition, competition or concert, to assure you play your best, overcome nerves, communicate the music emotionally and powerfully, and make sure you blow everyone away:)
Below I include some information about myself, and some videos of me performing solo with orchestra so you can get an idea of the style of playing I teach.
'Described as emotional, passionate and idiomatic, the playing of Sebastian See-Schierenberg has moved and touched audiences around the world for 3 decades. Now focussed primarily on teaching, Sebastian is a highly experienced and sought after pedagogue, teaching for over 25 years. He has held teaching posts and given masterclasses at leading universities especially in Asia as well as Europe, and has often served as adjudicator on competition juries in the Asia region. Many of his students have gone on to study at the most prestigious conservatoires worldwide and have won competition prizes, and older students have successfully auditioned for professional positions as performers and teachers in their own right.
"Teaching has undoubtedly now become my main focus and passion, and to my students I can pledge my absolute dedication and 100% commitment to achieving success together".
Sebastian himself won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London at the age of 16 where he studied with Itzhak Rashkovsky, and then went on to study with legendary professors Valery Klimov in Germany and Maya Glissarova in Russia. He has recorded for Signum Classics (his recording 'Sounds of Spain and the Americas' was received with great acclaim) and he has given solo recitals at such world-class venues as the Konzerthaus Berlin, Luxembourg Philharmonie, Southbank London, Palais des Beaux-Arts Brussels, and Singapore Esplanade to name but a few.
He has previously also performed over 1000 concerts as chamber and symphony orchestra player, has conducted many types of ensembles, and has taught orchestral repertoire at conservatoire level.
Sebastian is a wonderful teacher! He is detail oriented, but he also makes the lessons fun. I'm learning a lot and looking forward to continuing to work with him.
