◈ What is your approach to dealing with beginners?

I believe in the abilities of my students, so my priority with beginning violinists such as yourself is to understand your aspirations for the instrument. Only after I have established this foundation can I assist you in developing an individualized curriculum designed to meet your goals and individual learning needs.

When teaching beginners, my teaching methodology focuses on improving aural skills, refining tone quality, and improving articulation. Along with these technical aspects, I strive to cultivate a positive attitude necessary to excel in violin study. This includes developing traits such as patience, focus, determination, motivation, and contemplation. Lastly, I strongly believe that being satisfied with playing the violin is of paramount importance to me.

◈ What are my reasons for hiring a teacher?

I have three points for you to consider:

What is your desired level of proficiency? Self-correction is often unreliable in this context.

What level of satisfaction do you want to achieve? Using the services of a violin teacher gives you the opportunity to receive accurate and immediate feedback, which invariably fosters a greater sense of confidence.

Are you willing to invest a significant amount of time and money? There is no point in spending money on a course if you cannot devote adequate time to applying what you have learned. However, in my extensive teaching experience, I have found that exceptional results can be achieved through various combinations of classes, effort, and dedicated practice time.

◈ Are there any age restrictions?

From my perspective, the optimal age for online violin lessons would be about 8 years old. It's quite challenging to engage a child under 8 through an online medium, so I advise against it unless the child has immense maturity and enthusiasm for learning.

◈ Can adults learn to play the violin?

Individuals of all ages and abilities are welcome! It is possible to take violin lessons as an adult. You are never too old to pick up a musical instrument, and many adults find it to be a satisfying and gratifying pastime. To begin, find a violin teacher or program that is experienced in teaching adult beginners, and be dedicated and persistent in your training.
