I like the lessons with Sara very much. We also chat about the musical journey (cello holidays ) and so on, it is really a lot of fun and very interesting.

I had my first online lesson with Sarah today and I really enjoyed it. I am an amateur who plays already for a long time cello (but started as an adult)- and I had already a lot of teachers. She is really one of my favourites: giving musical ideas but also improving my technique. And she is so driven- I am really tired (but really happy) now. I am looking forward for more lessons with Sarah.

Sara always makes me feel inspired to play. She has a great balance of finding what is right, and concrete, specific things to work on. She creates a fun, easy learning environment and is flexible on what we should work on and what I need to work on for my orcherstra. Always a pleasure.

Sara Cortinas was my primary cello teacher for 3 years at the Music Institute of Long Island. She helped expand my cello repertoire and improve my technique while providing a friendly and nurturing environment. Each year under her instruction I received a perfect score at the highest level of New York State String Music Association (NYSSMA) solo evaluation. Additionally, I was named to the New York All State Orchestra twice, the All Nassau County orchestra multiple times, and was chosen as the winner of the Nina Wiggin award Most Outstanding Female Musician at the prestigious New England Music Camp. Sara was integral in positioning me for my musical successes. I will be continuing my education at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill Class of 2020 as a double major in psychology and cello performance.

Sara is a wonderful teacher and musician who I have had the privilege of studying with for several years. I was able to develop my technique and musicianship as a cellist by great measures under her instruction. Her pedagogy, the principles and direction that she gives is tangible, easy to understand and apply to a person's playing. The principles that she taught me are still what I refer to to this day. Not only an extremely knowledgable teacher and a great communicator of pedagogy, Sara is a wonderful and genuine person, one who creates a safe and nurturing environment for her students to thrive in. I am grateful for being able to study with Sara, who inspired and supported me to continue to pursue music at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington.

Sara is one of my biggest musical influences. I remember my first lesson and immediately realizing that my playing would be changed by having the opportunity to learn from such a talented musician. Within just minutes, Sara was not only able to identify flaws in my technique, but furthermore offer solutions and actionable steps to improve my musicianship. A talented teacher, she encouraged and cultivated my interest in music and ultimately made me a better musician. I could talk for hours in regards to her humor, her genuine nature, and the love that she holds for her students. Because of her pedagogy, I am happy to say that I am still pursuing music to this day at Cornell University. Without her, I am positive my musical experience would not have been complete.
