Violinist with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra and passionate teacher
Hello everyone, my name is Priscila Plata Rato. I have been playing the violin for 19 years. I have a bachelor degree at “Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro” and after my graduation; I went to Switzerland to study at the Menuhin Academy with Maxim Vengerov, Liviu Prunaru and Oleg Kaskiv. For almost two years I played as concert master at Bahia Symphony Orchestra and since I am back to Rio, I am second violin principal assistant at the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. I am finishing my Master Course degree at “Universidade Federal da Bahia”. I love to teach and to pass on the knowledge I have learned. When I was 21 y. o. I was invited to teach at winter music festival in Domingos Martins and after that; I started to enjoy teaching. I had private students and for a short period, I had the opportunity to work with talented young musicians at Neojiba social program in Bahia and for almost one year, in the social program in countryside of Rio de Janeiro (Barra Mansa project).
