Hi I’m Phill, I’ve been a professional trumpet player my entire adult life and I wish to share the skills I’ve learnt with you.
I’m a dedicated trumpet teacher with 14 years professional teaching experience and I always achieve excellent results. I take a wholistic approach to teaching my students, giving them the lifelong and comprehensive skills to become well-rounded musicians, rather than just focusing on passing exams (although that’s always guarenteed too!)
I’m a professional trumpet player currently employed with the Royal Australian Navy Band and I perform extensively across all genres and styles of music. I frequently perform ensemble work with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra as well as with well-known artists such as Guy Sebastian and James Morrison. I’m also an accomplished soloist, having won numerous solo performance competitions and have recorded and released my own debut solo album. I’m a sponsored brand representative for Stomvi Trumpets.
I’m dedicated to sharing my skills, experience, knowledge and passion with students of all ages and skill levels and I love nothing better than to see others succeed.

Not every great player is a great teacher but Phill manages both. He has helped my daughter 's trumpet playing and as well as her confidence. As a teacher, he's a good mix of approachable and strict and has built a strong rapport with my daughter. We're lucky to have found him.

Phill O'Neill isn't for everyone - if you're not really interested in doing what is needed to become better at the trumpet, he won't waste his time or your money. But if you live up to your end of the bargain (and do it respectfully) then you'll get one of the toppermost horn players in the game honing your technique and turning you into a real trumpeter. Can't recommend him strongly enough if that's what you're after.
