I'm a First Violinist with the Pittsburgh Symphony. I have enjoyed over a decade of teaching students of all ages.
I completed my studies at the Juilliard School, receiving my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Violin Performance. I love to help students find their strengths. I especially enjoy finding the most engaging tones and colors. I can also help you improve your technique and practice skills for the most efficient use of your time. Please tell me your musical goals and I will help you achieve them.
My wonderful teachers have included Almita Vamos, Ronald Copes, Joel Smirnoff, Hyo Kang, Ben Sayevich, and Kathy Berry. I was the Grand Prize Winner of the Naftzger Competition and have performed as soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Kansas City Symphony, and other orchestras.
I've participated in the Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music Festival, and Yellow Barn Music Festival. Coaches include Glenn Dicterow, Dorothy DeLay, Gil Shaham, and the Juilliard String Quartet.
I really enjoy taking violin lessons from Kristina. Kristina is always helpful, encouraging, and patient. She is methodical and prescribes specific exercises for practicing skills that need improvements. This inspires me to practice more. It's a privilege to be Kristina's student.
