I'm the cello professor in conservatory of Amsterdam,Rotterdam and Utrecht, and the founder of Cello Academy Zutphen.
My teaching at the conservatory started started when I became 23 years old.
Now, after 25 years teaching as a professor at the conservatories of Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht I feel still bringing out the same message: its of vital importance to get coaching on how to build a good "ground" for your playing.
A technical work-out of little playful exercises, repeated over a long time, can give your musical aspirations wings!
But everything is music! Play by not avoiding mistakes, delegation of body functions, gravity and breathing are some key topics which will lead to a healthy way to achieve perfection.
My main focus is on how and what people practise. I believes that being aware of one's imagination, sensitive listening and following intuition: these are elements that have proved to be the best teachers for life.
Being with great teachers myself like Bunting, Yo-Yo Ma, Bijlsma and having performed as a soloist and chamber musician all over the world, from Bach to contemporary music, giving masterclasses from Germany, France to Hong Kong and Israel, I feel ready to coach cellists on long term, helping them to bring out their musical dreams.
