I'm professor of violin studies at the haute école de musique Genève with over 20 years teaching experience and would love to guide you.
I am a fourth-generation violinist and teacher and descendant of a lineage of classically-trained musicians. I have been performing since I was five years old and play regularly as a soloist with renowned orchestras. Teaching and chamber music are my big passions. My teachers have included Herman Krebbers, Igor Ozim, Ana Chumachenco, Zakhar Bron and Shmuel Ashkenasi. Research and application of music methodology are an inseparable part of my work undertakings. My doctoral thesis from Trinity College examines the similarities and differences within 20th-century violin pedagogy. In 2009, my award-winning book, Michaela’s Music House, The Magic of the Violin, was published.
The book serves to instruct the beginner violinist. It is in three parts and includes my own studies and compositions. Michaela’s Music House is available in English and German and is part of the ESTA Edition collection available via Müller & Schade.
I'm professor of violin studies at the haute école de musique Genève since 2013. Presently, I teach violin and chamber-music master classes at institutes and festivals throughout Europe and North America and gives lecture recitals and talks concerning my areas of expertise. I am the host of The Exhale, which is a course focusing inspiring your well-being as a musician. I am also the founder and artistic director of the GAIA Music Festival in Switzerland.
