I am teaching improvisation of cadenzas in classical solo concerts, modern cello and baroque cello.
I am David, cellist based in Hamburg/Germany. I am always interested in new musical expression. Over many years I have developed a new teaching subject: improvisation of cadenzas in a classical solo concert. I look forward to showing musicians of any instrument how to improvise and compose cadenzas.
I play both modern cello and baroque cello and I would love to help on your path as a cellist.
I have arranged Schumann's cello concerto and Tchaikovsky's Rococo variations for cello and wind quintet, recorded these works on CD and published them at Sikorski Musikverlag. Recently I recorded a CD with solo and chamber music works by Emanuel Moór at Bayerischer Rundfunk/Germany. In the double concerto for two cellos I am accompanied by the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra. I have performed a lot of contemporary music and now I am recording Bach's solo suites on the baroque cello.
I have many years of experience as a teacher and have taught cello, chamber music, cello methodology and improvisation at various universities. I gave master classes on improvisation of cadenzas at the Musikhochschulen in Hamburg, Detmold, Nuremberg and at the Orchesterzentrum Dormund.
