Concert Pianist & Concert Violinist at Artists International Management, USA
Hi there! My name is Anita Chen. Born in America, I began to study the piano at age three and within a year, I added the violin. At age seven, I was accepted into the pre-college division at The Juilliard School. I launched my career in 2002 at age eleven performing as orchestral soloist in eight concerts on both the violin and the piano with the St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble at New York’s Carnegie Hall in the Isaac Stern Auditorium. Recently, I extensively toured across the United States, performing solo recitals on the violin and piano in 36 cities.
I also made my recording debut in Moscow with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra and in addition to performances in the United States, I have participated in tours and music festivals in the UK, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France.
Aside from performing, I have been teaching seriously for about 10 years now. My dream is to continue to practice my passion for music while also educating my students. I have helped students of all ages accomplish many achievements, including admission into Regional and All-State orchestras, preparation for critical placement examinations such as ABRSM, and valuable exposure to musical conduct and performances.
I believe in passing down to my students everything I have learned in the past and will learn in the future. In order for classical music to live on forever, we must share our knowledge and music with the rest of the world!
Ms Anita is a helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive instructor. Through my years studying with her, she has given me insightful practicing habits and tips on how to play with more confidence. Violin is a difficult instrument to learn and master, but Ms Chen has been able to make the learning experience enjoyable. She continues to push me harder to become a better musician every day, often checking in on my learning progress.
Anita is a very understanding yet demanding instructor. With her, I feel secure that my child is receiving great education.
I highly recommend Anita for any student musician who wishes to take their musicianship to the next level. Her dedication makes my weekly lessons something I look forward to and pushes me to work harder on learning new pieces and mastering basic scales and sight-reading techniques.
